Roofing Case Studies in Indianapolis, IN
Real projects, explained in plain words: what the problem was, what we found, what we did, and how it turned out.
The short answer: If your roof has years left and the damage is in one area, repair it. If shingles are failing across the roof or the same leaks keep returning, a replacement saves money over time. We tell you which one applies, with photos.
Featured projects
We are adding detailed write-ups of recent Indianapolis roofing projects, including roof replacements, hail damage repairs and chimney flashing leak repairs. Check back soon, or contact us to talk about your own roof.
How we document every job
We photograph the roof before, during and after the work, and give the homeowner a written estimate before anything starts. Read more on our roof replacement and roof repair pages, or contact us for an estimate.
How every R&R Roofing project is documented
Every job we take follows the same record-keeping steps, so each project can be explained clearly to the homeowner and, later, in a case study.
- Inspection photos. We photograph the roof surface, flashing, vents, gutters and any damage before work starts.
- Written estimate. The homeowner gets the scope, materials and price in writing before we begin. Decking repairs are priced per sheet so there are no surprises.
- Progress photos. We photograph the tear-off, decking, underlayment, flashing and shingle installation.
- Final walk-through. We check the finished roof and the yard with the homeowner, and photograph the completed work.
What a good roofing case study should show
When you compare roofers, look for projects that explain more than a before and after photo. A useful case study shows:
- the problem the homeowner actually had, such as a ceiling stain, missing shingles or storm damage
- what the inspection found, and where
- the materials used and why
- the steps of the work, in order
- the result, stated honestly
Roofing problems we see in Indianapolis
Indianapolis roofs deal with real seasonal stress. The National Weather Service records about 25.5 inches of snow a year here (1991-2020 average), and the freeze-thaw cycles that come with it work on flashing, sealant and shingle edges. Add spring storms and summer heat, and older asphalt roofs wear out in predictable places.
- Aging asphalt shingles: curling, cracking and granule loss. See our roof replacement page and the cost guide.
- Storm and hail damage: often hard to see from the ground. Read about storm damage repair and insurance claims.
- Flashing leaks: chimneys, valleys and wall joints are common leak points. See chimney flashing repair.
- Repair or replace decisions: our guide to repair vs replacement explains how to decide.
Planned case studies
We are preparing write-ups of three project types: a full roof replacement, a hail damage inspection and repair, and a chimney flashing leak repair. Each will include real photos and the steps followed, and will be published once the job details are confirmed.
Want a roof inspection first?
You do not need to wait for a case study to see how we work. Contact us for an inspection and a written estimate, or check the areas we serve.
Case study questions
Are these real projects?
Yes. Each case study is published only after the job details and photos are confirmed.
